iTnews and Secure Computing will celebrate the achievements of Australia’s cyber security professionals with the SC Benchmark Awards 2015.
In the past year we've seen an unprecedented number of data breaches and vulnerabilities in popular technology platforms, resulting in late nights for security administrators around the country.
We’ve seen the networks of Target, JP Morgan, Dairy Queen, Kmart - a laundry list of US retailers and financial services players - infected with malware.
What we’ve learned from these attacks is that perimeter security - using antivirus, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention - is necessary but not enough to prevent an attack.
IT security is not a product you can buy. It's a constant fight.
The SC Benchmark Awards seeks to recognise the best security projects or management of incidents of 2014.
Entries for projects that were either completed or delivered calculable results by 2 February, 2015, qualify for submission. Entries will close at midnight on April 17, 2015.
Finalists will be named in early May 2015 and the winner crowned at the AusCERT 2015 Information Security Conference.
